Launched in November 2016, this is a slot you can’t refuse if you are a cat person. The Catfather Part II is a sequel to the popular Catfather game, and it is a follow up worthy of the feline mob bosses in the previous instalment. TopGame’s winter release mostly keeps the same graphics as the previous slot, and the old cast returns to grace the reels once again.

However, the gameplay is improved significantly. The Catfather still pays both ways, but from the old 9 paylines we jumped up to 30 paylines. Along with this, TopGame’s newest release has rather satisfying bonuses if you can manage to activate them. The stage is set in the game, so the only question left is if you’re ready to enlist with the feline mafia and score the big wins?

The gang’s all here from the previous game, and not much has changed since then. Several stylish cats form the higher paying symbols in the slot, while the lower bracket of icons are standard icons such as J, Q, K and A. However, there is a notable lack of the chubby ginger cat from the previous Catfather, perhaps as a nod to the Godfather movies where Vito was taken out of the picture? TopGame’s winter release also has several special symbols that you will be seeing plenty of. Wilds are presented as several black cats, and apart from replacing all icons except the Scatter, they are also the highest paying icons in the game. Along with them we have Scatters, presented as a closed briefcase, which can award free spins and multipliers.

How to Play

This slot has one of the classier looking interfaces we have seen. The dark red background and the lamps slightly illuminating the reels, which are in turn a royal purple and filled with classy felines and jewel-plated symbols certainly help sell the Catfather theme as a soft, parlour music plays in the background.

Everything is also clearly visible, which is a major bonus for the game. Some buttons tend to be annoyingly small, but all information is clearly presented to the player, which goes a long way to build the enjoyment with the slot.

Playable for as little as $0.30 up to $150, which makes this an enjoyable slot for both low rollers and more profit orientated players. Constant small wins and the tantalising prospect of earning x5000 your stake will certainly keep even the high rollers interested in The Catfather’s charms.

In terms of special features, there are two notable ones. The first are stacked Wilds that occur randomly before the completion of any spin. These stacked Wilds can appear on any reel, and when it is triggered, that whole reel becomes a Wild.
Getting three or more Scatters will activate the Free Spins feature. You are always given ten free spins, but the multiplier that comes with the bonus rounds increases depending on how many Scatters activated the special.

While the free spins are active, at least one reel will always be a stacked Wild, and getting three or more Scatters will award you additional 5 spins.

Strategy and Tips

While the profits were generally increased across the board for TopGame’s winter release, if your aim is to walk away with as much money as possible, you want to aim for five Wilds on the reels.

This gives you more money than any other option in the slot, which is x5000 your wager. If you were playing on the maximum bet level and coin value, that would earn you $750,000, which is hardly a number to sneeze at.

But you should not neglect other symbols either, as they can help tide you over and keep you in the plus while you chase those five black cats. Wins tend to come often enough to keep you in the game, which is certainly more welcome than being forced to spin and lose over and over.
