In 2016, Booongo Gaming introduced us to the magical realm of Egypt. Despite their great influence that spanned many empires and continues to this day, their civilization met its end after many conquests, leaving behind their greatest achievements and hieroglyphs as the only way to peek into their beliefs. The title offers an interest reel set up, with a detail backdrop, small animations and a mysterious, ancient sounding soundtrack in the background. The possibility of winning big, and an RTP of 96.9% will without a doubt draw in plenty who seek to share in the treasure you will gain plundering the pyramids.
The game forgoes a regular structure, and instead, used a 2-3-4-5-6-7 reel set up, slowly expanding the further right you go. This means you have 64 fixed paylines, without any options to turn them on or off. The symbols are a mixture of regular playing card icons, and several Egyptian styled symbols.

The reels are set up in a relatively unique way, starting small on the left and expanding towards the right, allowing for a maximum six symbol win. The biggest cash prize for a single win is 25x for a six-of-a-kind Wild win. Alongside this, there are also special features you can use to your advantage. In fact, there’s only one actual bonus, and that are the free spins, which are activated by collecting three, four or five Scatters, which rewards six, eight or twelve free spins respectively. These only appear during the main game on all reels except the first, and it is impossible to retrigger the free spins.
Instead, God’s Temple rewards you for playing longer by including achievements. There are six in total to complete, and completing all six rewards you with 12 free spins. It is possible to keep unlocking these achievements again and winning free spins like that, but it’s not something you should be too reliant on, as one of the achievements is to activate free spins twelve times.
How to Play
Despite the somewhat different reel layout compared to other titles, it isn’t that difficult to get into grasp with the title once you figure out where the paylines are. There’s no need to worry about checking how many paylines you have active, as they’re all active on a fixed rhythm, so you only have to move your actual wager up and down to the bet you’d like to play at, and start spinning. The nice thing about God’s Temple is that the paytable shows you what your wins will be in accordance to your wager, so a five-of-a-kind A win will be 350 coins at a 100 coins bet, but 70 coins for a 35 coin bet.
You can wager between $0.20 up to $100 in cash, giving gamblers a wide range of betting options. The biggest single win you can score is $160,000.
There is an option to enable Autoplay, but unlike in most other titles, pressing the button will simply keep the game spinning until you click it again. You can’t set a specific amount of spins, or any limit as to how much you are willing to spend.
Strategy & Tips
Despite their presence, we can’t really say that achievements make much of a difference. They really are essentially a small bonus on top of the actual one, and that are the actual free spins. You won’t get any major wins without them, so make sure you hit those Scatters as much as possible.
We’ve played on the HTML5 version, which is also used for mobile versions of the title. It runs buttery smooth without any issues, though you may want to consider a bigger device, as the symbols can sometimes be too small to properly fit phones.
