This classic slot tries to take the best out of the glamorous world of the rich and represent it in a classic slot format. However, aside from the game’s logo which is plastered all over the screen under the reels, few of the actual winning icons contains anything to do with luxury. Oh sure, there is a car, but a car isn’t everything.
So, the theme isn’t accurately represented by the icons, but if you’re just after a good, old fashioned classic slot, then who cares? This will suffice for that purpose, and suffice well.
Microgaming has kept this classic slot as close to the original structure of the genre as possible when developing this title. As a classic slot it is a 3 reel, single payline game, and it offers coin denominations that range from a base of $0.25 up to $5. No more than 2 coins per line can be staked, and this gives the slot minimum and maximum wagers of $0.25 and $10 respectively, though of course, you can wager anything in between those values too.
As a classic slot, cherries, single bars, double bars, triple bars and red sevens all can be found in this title. The big paying, one of a kind icon though, is the Living in Luxury logo, which features a car and text. This icon is not only the best paying symbol, but it also offers some special features.
The special Living in Luxury icon will award players with multiplier payouts when it appears on any winning combination. This is because it is also a wild symbol, and can substitute itself for any other symbol needed to complete a payline. When used once, it offers a 2x multiplier, and when it used twice in a combination, it offers a 4x multiplier to the winning amount offered by said combination.
Players can pocket a more than rewarding amount of money in this slot, if they land 3 single bars or higher, as anything below that is small news. Players will win double the amount of money with a 2 coin stake as they would with a one coin stake, and this applies to every combination in the slot.
Winning combinations include any single cherry, any 3 bars, any 2 cherries, 3 single bars, 3 cherries, 3 double bars, 3 triple bars and 3 red sevens. There is only one payline to play on though, so this won’t be easy by anyone’s standards.
The Living in Luxury logo is not only a wild and a multiplier, as its third function is also a jackpot icon. Whenever the player lands 3 of these special symbols on the payline, they will win a jackpot. The jackpot though, varies depending on whether the player has staked 1 coin or 2 coins per spin. If they have 1 coin wagered when they land the icons, they’ll pick up 800 coins. However, if they have 2 coins staked when they win, their jackpot will be worth double that, at a game maximum of 1,600 coins.
I didn’t like this slot for a number of reasons, but every gamer is different. The maximum wager is a little too steep for a jackpot than consists of only $8,000, especially when other Microgaming classic slots offer you more for the same stake. Graphic nuts will also be disappointed with the lack of thematic symbols here. It appears as though Living in Luxury is just another typical Microgaming classic slot, albeit with a slightly different paint job and a new name, meaning originality is at its minimum with the development of this title.
