Retrace Marion Crane's steps in the final day of her life and see if you can catch the killer of the secretary who arrived at the Bates Motel with $40,000, stolen from her employer. You do need to check in at the scary-looking motel and spend some time with its owner Norman Bates, who is an epitome of the person you don't exactly want to be around for too long. But, if you manage to overcome all these obstacles, there will be some nice surprises waiting at the end of the road.
Developed in collaboration with Universal Pictures, Psycho is themed on Alfred Hitchcock's classic movie of the same name and we have to say that NextGen has done justice to one of world's most famous films. And while casino gamers will also enjoy very good visuals, it is the amazing sound effects that create an eerie atmosphere on the reels and seriously enhance the overall gaming experience.
The NextGen title was released in May 2015 on desktop and mobile, and it is played on five reels and twenty five paylines. Marion Crane and Norman Bates are the two characters from the original movie appearing on the reels, which also contain symbols such as peephole, money envelope, room number one key and high cards Ace through Ten, with Wild and Bates House Scatter acting as the two feature icons.
How to play
The first thing you need to do is select the preferred coin denomination using Bet Up and Bet Down buttons, with nine of these on offer in the $0.01-$2 range.
Maximum twenty five paylines are selected by default and this number is fixed, meaning that each spin will set you back exactly 25 coins.
Some of the other options available in the Game Options panel include Spin, Autoplay, Gamble, Max Bet, Sound and Info (Paytable).
Strategy & Tips
Get Wild icon to substitute for any other non-Scatter symbol and any subsequent win will be multiplied by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20.
Obtain three, four or five Bates House Scatters in any position and you will be awarded 10, 15 or 20 free games, where additional Wilds are added to the reels and multipliers are increased to x2, x4, x6, x8, x10, x20 and x40.
Gamble feature can be used after each winning spin, with correct guess on the colour or suit of the next card doubling and quadrupling your payout respectively.
It is always a good sign when a software provider releases desktop and mobile versions of a game simultaneously as that means they have paid a lot of attention to providing gamers with a quality user experience on smartphone and tablet.
Psycho definitely falls into this category as the game loses none of its appeal when enjoyed on the move, with sleek graphics and engaging soundtrack making everything all the more appealing, especially with Wild multipliers and Free Games Feature at your disposal.
