In 2018, Push Gaming decided to introduce us to the magical world of tiki masks. The masks are made to resemble the first man as created by Tumatauenga or Tane in Maori mythology, with similar carvings finding themselves all over Polynesian culture to represent ancestors. The masks were often used to mark boundaries of sacred locations. These masks, however, are very much so more fun loving, striking a number of amusing faces which adds to the charm of the graphics on display, as does the rather striking backdrop filled with volcanoes, clouds and stone statues. The RTP for this game is 96.49%, which is above average for video slots.
The title is played on a 5x4 playing field with 20 fixed paylines. Players have two special features to work with. The first being a simple Nudging Wilds feature that allows them to move about slightly and cause re-spins, and the other being a free spins bonus that uses the first to create something a touch different than what you’re used to.
Play Tiki Tumble
The Nudging Wilds bonus is rather simple in execution. It activates when a Wild symbol is among the top three symbol positions on one or more reels before a spin goes through. The reels with a Wild on them will nudge one position downwards, while the remaining reels spin as normal.
Collecting three or more Golden Mask Scatters activates the free spins feature. The second and fourth reels are then filled up with Wilds, and players are awarded a random multiplier between 1x and 3x, depending on how many Scatters triggered the feature. Each time a Nudging Wild bonus is activated, which it must because of the two reels full of Wilds, the multiplier goes up by one. The free spins continue until there are no more Wild symbols anywhere on the playing field.
How to Play
Honestly, the bonuses that Tiki Tumble offers were rather simplistic, but we quite liked their interaction with each other. A lot of games simply have several bonuses that, for the most part, don’t do much with one another, and simply exist together. Having a bit of interaction, needing one so the other works as intended, is a rather nice touch from Push Gaming, we have to admit. We hope to see them take this concept further at some point.
You can wager between $0.20 up to $100 per spin, which should please casual players and high rollers alike thanks to the wide range of available bets. The largest jackpot you can win is worth 12500 coins.
Push Gaming’s release also has a rather extensive Autoplay option, allowing gamblers to set a loss limit and a single bet limit alongside setting how many auto spins they want to go through with. There’s no choice as to whether or not you want Autoplay to stop for features or jackpot wins, but we suppose the latter can fall under the single win limiter.
Strategy & Tips
We wouldn’t mark this as a high variance game, but it still pays to be a touch conservative with your wager. The feature can take a while to activate, but when it finally does, it can provide for some pretty good cash prizes.
There aren’t many significant differences between mobile and desktop versions.
