Here in the western hemisphere, we’ve often heard about the ‘offer you can’t refuse’ if you know what’s good for you. Mobster movies popularized it, and now, it seems like it’s just about everywhere. That said, we don’t believe this is quite what Red Tiger had in mind in their 2016 release, called Golden Offer. Instead, players are treated to a fabulous red and gold showing of Chinese wealth filled with great winning potential, good graphics and a rather minimalistic sound design. The title has an RTP of 96.03%, marking it above average for video slots.
Rather than playing it on a regular set of reels, the playing field narrows at the beginning and end in a 3-5-5-5-3 formation. That framing has its upsides and downsides, but the bonuses this game offers are nothing short of a very positive influence on the title.
Play Golden Offer
The first, and rather straight-forward bonus is the one whose name the slot carries. Once three Golden Offer symbols appear on the second, third and fourth reels at the same time, player are quickly swept up onto another screen, and are given a cash offer which they can choose to accept or reject. If you reject, another offer is made to you. You are given a total of three offers, and if you take none of them, then the last one will be automatically paid out to you, so make sure it’s worth risking before you press that no button.
The second, and more expansive bonus, are actually four of them under the umbrella of one – the Lion bonuses. The two statues that sit on each side of the reels will intervene at random intervals, doing one of four things.
Special reels, in which the lions make it more likely for high paying icons to appear
Lion’s nudge, where lions will ‘adjust’ the playing field until a winning combination is created.
Swap tiles, which transforms symbols into higher paying icons, and finally
Wild reels, which created Wild symbols across the reels
How to Play
We’re quite pleased with the bonuses, even if they aren’t particularly innovative. One slight thing that was a touch annoying is that swap tiles and special reels feel too similar during gameplay. While one swaps lower paying icons into higher paying ones, while the other encourages more profitable symbols to spawn, they fill a similar purpose, which we feel Red Tiger should have filled by adding a different bonus.
You can wager between $0.20 up to $20 per spin, which should allow everyone to budget accordingly. The largest jackpot you can win is 400,000 coins.
The autoplay option is the same one used in several others Red Tiger releases, allowing you to set your loss limit, win threshold, and choose if you want to stop autoplay for feature wins or jackpots.
Strategy & Tips
Unless the offer is absolutely abysmal, we recommend always taking the first offer the game gives you. It’s not particularly in the slot mood, but in general, if the offer is above 50x, we usually decided to take it. Even if you choose to keep playing for bigger wins, it creates a solid buffer before you start gambling your own money again.
There’s no distinct difference between Golden Offer on desktop and mobile devices.
