In 2016, we saw the release of God’s Temple. The unique reel layout and achievements at the time drew players in to a title that wasn’t like any other – and as a result, two years later, Booongo Gaming decided to slap on a fresh coat of paint and bring the title up to 2018 standards. If you’ve played the original title, you don’t need to worry, as only minor things were changed, and most of them were simply upscaling graphics. While the ones in 2016 weren’t bad, nobody will complain about their games looking better, right?
Like before, the game is set on a 2-3-4-5-6-7 playing field, growing more as you move to the right. There are 64 fixed paylines, awarding pays when three or more adjacent symbols sit next to each other on the playing field. The symbols are a mixture of playing card icons and Egyptian mythological symbols.

Thanks to the way the reels are laid out, it is possible to win a six-of-a-kind score, with the biggest single win being a 25x score for the Wild symbol. Like before, there are free spins, but this time around, the various achievements have been streamlined into a single meter that keeps filling out. To activate the free spins, you need to collect three, four or five Scatters, which rewards six, eight and twelve extra turns, respectively. They appear in all reels except the first one, and the feature cannot be retriggered.
Meanwhile, the six different achievements became a single meter that tracks how many Scatters appeared in total during normal gameplay. You need to collect 1200 Scatters for twelve free spins in total, so we imagine the time investment is more or less the same as it used to be.
How to Play
So long as you remember you need three or more symbols to appear adjacent to each other, you won’t have any issues identifying where the reels are in this game, despite the playing field being quite different than most other slots. Like before, the paytable displays your wins according to your active wager, so it goes up and down depending on how high or low it is.
You can wager between $0.20 up to $60 this time around, which is less than what the original allowed you as a maximum bet. The highest possible single score, meanwhile, dropped to $96,000.
Finally, the option to enable AutoPlay is also present in the remastered version as well, though its functionality hasn’t changed or been updated. It still remains as simple as pressing a button and the title will do all the work for you, but there is no way to set how many free spins you’d like to do, or if you’d like to set a limit on how much you can spend.
Strategy & Tips
The hallmark of a good remaster, in our books, is if everything looks great while the core gameplay stayed the same. We can safely determine that was the case here, as well. The achievements were a small reward for people who kept coming back and playing a lot of God’S Temple, and the Scatter collection fulfills the exact same role here. The biggest earner still remain the free spins.
This time around, the reels are slightly bigger, which makes this title more accessible on mobile phones, while tablets and other mobile devices didn’t have any issues with it in the first place. A good step forward.
