New Acquisitions Boost Prospects for Maker of Slot Machines

New slot machine might be the boost needed.

With a 291,000 square foot building it is very hard to miss Ainsworth Game Technology’s Newest North American Headquarters.  This new state of the art headquarters is currently under construction within the southwest valley which is along the 215 Beltway located near South Jones Blvd.

This Australian based slot machine manufacturer took a major step within the last month in order to begin filling the huge two-story office space.  It will cost Ainworth 38 million dollars in order to acquire Nova Technologies which is a small Carolina based slot machine manufacturer that provides slot machines to the Indian Gaming Industry.  This deal is expected to finalize early in 2016.

This purchase marked the third within the prior 13 months of a Class II slot machine manufacture by a traditional manufacturer.  In 2014 the Australian based manufacturer Aristocrat Technologies purchased Video Gaming Technologies for 1.3 million dollars, and in May of 2015 the American Gaming Systems purchased Cadillac Jack for 382 million dollars.

Nova Technologies was one of the very few Class II manufactures remaining that had not been acquired.  Class II slot machines have their very own set of characteristics that set them apart from the traditional Las Vegas style slots.  The Indian Gaming Control Act regulated a specific set of regulations as well as rules that govern their use.  All of the slot machines are managed by a central server.  These machines often integrate electronic versions of the game bingo that will ultimately pit player against player.

The use of these Class II games within the Indian Casinos has rebound from a very low standpoint of 42,000 games in 2009, to roughly 55,000 games in 2016.  This is mostly when the manufactures share in the actual games revenue with the tribal casino operators.
