The B.C. ferries have a change of plans.
The plan to add some slot machines to the B.C. ferries that has been circulating for some time has now been truly discussed with those that are involved in the plan. This would allow the ferries to get money from the slots, and provide extra fun for the passengers that ride on the ferries throughout the year. While this would cost a bit to start up, it would be lucrative to the ferry and the company to have them put on the boats.
However, this idea was discussed and a new plan was brought to the table and then decided on.
The decision to scrap this slot machine idea came from the decision on whether or not this would be a good thing, or a bad one for the ferries that so many people ride on. This was because they felt that the slot machines would not be a huge attraction with the guests that would come on and ride them throughout the year. They felt that the money would not be wisely spent if it was on a slot machine section for the ferries.
Instead, they have came to the conclusion that the money is going to be spent on expanding the gift shop for the ferries. This allows for more items to be sold on the boats that people can purchase. This is one of the biggest expansions that is going to make the company, and the ferries more money since many of the people that ride them are tourists and they enjoy bringing items from the new place home for others. This gives them the chance to get last minute gifts.
Whether or not this is going to be a success is hard to tell. They have to put the plan in motion after the renovations on the ferries and then crunch the numbers. They will never know how well this will go when the time comes, until it is done and ready to go. This is always a good thing to consider, and it is something that might just be the best for them, their company and their ferry.
We will continue to update you as time moves on.
