Slots Make 85% of French Casino Revenue

Slot machines spearhead the fiscal reports issued by French casinos

There are two hundred casinos operating in France and recently they have announced their generated total gaming revenue in the 2016 to 2017 fiscal year.

Total generated gaming revenue is a whopping €2.292bn which is 2.48% higher than the previous year with slot machines down 1.47 per cent to €1.92bn but still leading the line in casino business. Slot machines in France generated 84.87% of total casino market revenue in France and the average daily spend per slot was €69.42 over the last year.

Slots Lead Line

Traditional table games are always popular and were up for 0.36% year-on-year with €202.238.101 of generated gaming revenue (GGR). English Roulette is definitely the most popular tale game and represents a GGR of €72.139.432. English Roulette is being offered in 120 casinos in France while French Roulette is still present in six casinos, Aix-en-Provance, Cassis, Deauville, Enghien, Evian and Niederbronn.

American Roulette can be still found in two Caribbean casinos in Gosier and Saint-Francois. French Roulette generated a total GGR of €4.29.

The second top-earning table game in France is Black Jack and it is being operated in 196 casinos across the country. Black Jack has a total GGR of €67.179.602 while the other main table games have generated significantly less amounts. Texas Hold’em has a GGR of €22.011.710, Ultimate Poker has a GGR of €14.759.025 and Casino Hold’em Poker has €2.410.550. Punto Banco, operated by five casinos, generated €14.364.286 and La Boule, operated by 46 casinos, generated €2.223.077.

Table Games’ Growing Popularity

Although electronic table games are expanding impressively by 24.33%, there are still 20 casinos that aren’t operating them. Last year 31 casinos didn’t offer electronic table games and now, when that number is lower, they have generated €144.623.837 and accounted for 6.3% of the overall GGR.

The biggest share of that amount is generated by electronic English Roulette, €141.330.842. The second place belongs to electronic Black Jack with €2.968.357 generated. The rest of the amount is generated by electronic Punto Banco. Electronic Punto Baco is one of the games that are currently on trial and are just entering the French market.

We’ll have to wait for the next fiscal year and see their cost-effectiveness.
