Under New Proposal Florida Will Be Known as ‘Slot Machine Capital of Nation”
Under a very comprehensive re-write of the current state gaming law which was filed on Thursday, March 16, 2017 Florida would ultimately be known as the Slot Machine Capital of the Nation. If the new proposal is approved it would ultimately give Miami-Dade county as well as Broward county each an added slot revenue. This new proposal would give the Seminole Tribe horse and dog tracks as well as the full scale casinos in the eight counties the right to install new slot machine parlors at these locations.
The proposal that was set forth by a Bradenton Republican, Senator Bill Galvano would ultimately expand the gaming in Florida State by not only providing an opening for the Malaysian company known as Genting, to construct its very long sought after casino resorts in the Miami area, but they are also providing an opening for the decline in jai-alai and horse and dog racing industries by allowing them to put a new breath of life into the operations by providing slot machines. For the latest gaming options such as fantasy sports the state would set regulations as well as requiring a permit to operate.
Senator Bill Galvano told the Heralds/Times that this proposal is a very sincere effort to try to address many issues in a very comprehensive manner as well as balance the private industries with the maximizing revenues that come from the Seminole Tribe. Than Senator Bill Galvano also added in that the bill that is currently 112 pages long should also be considered as the opening offer from the state of Florida.
